Yet another familiar person has passed away...Goodbye Patrick Swayze...we will miss you.
Who will ever forget the famous line "NObody puts Baby in the corner!" from Dirty Dancing? What a fun, classic movie. I can't even begin to count the times I have seen it, can you?
This year, we have lost many persons that have a place in our hearts, minds and/or memories. Just to name a few:
Teddy Kennedy, Farrah Fawcett, Michael Jackson, Patrick Swayze, the great Walter Cronkite...are there others?

Pink Artist Squares
Okay, so I didn't even make it through Rule #1....Life has a way of getting in the way. I spent a week in Atlanta taking care of my daughter who had Flu A and B strains and streph throat. Bless her little heart. She graduated from college this past July and is experiencing life in the real world with her first "big girl" job, as she calls it, and life hasn't been real easy for her. Her apartment costs her about what she makes and it has been hard for her to meet and make friends in the big, cruel city. She is not very happy. Wish I could help her, but somethings in life have to be dealt with on one's own, and that sure is hard for a Mom to deal with.
I have been trying to do a little sewing, but haven't been real successful with that either. I have managed to make a couple of of pink art squares for the Pink Artist Square project that I will be sending to Monica on Monday. I am real excited about participating in the project.
Went to my doctor Wednesday for a checkup. Everything is okay, but got the dreaded news - need to exercise and lose a little weight. I start Weight Watchers Monday, and since I decided to start WW...I have been starving and can't seem to eat anything that satisfies my appetite. Life after 50 sure is challenging.
Okay .... I have been trying to add an image to this, but can't figure it out @#$%##@! So I am going to close and see if I can find a blogger class somewhere. Maybe my friend, Suzan, of the Thrifty Collage Artist can help me. We'll see.

Here I go...wading into something new for me
Well, I finally did it ~ I started a blog. I've wanted to for a while, but not really sure I will be good at it. As a child I loved diaries, but after about a week of "Dear Diary, Today it was sunny or rainy or whatever...and didn't do much today..." I would put the diary away and try again when I got a new diary for a birthday. I love looking at and reading these wonderful, beautiful art blogs I find and looking at the beautiful art journals. I hope to be able to dive in and create a journal worth reading.
So, I will begin slowly. Here are the rules for myself:
*Try to write at least once a week to get my feet wet.
*Learn to post pictures so that my blog will be fun to look at.
*Don't be afraid to write what I am thinking even if it is shallow and I don't think anybody else will want to read my words.
*Enjoy this new venture - have fun -
